Programme description
  • The Atmosphere Observing System (AOS) mission goal is to optimize how we examine links among tiny particles known as "aerosols", clouds, atmospheric convection, and precipitation.
  • AOS comprises of 4 satellites, 2 in sun synchronous orbits and 2 in drifting orbits
  • This is a joint US, Canadian and Japanese effort with contributions from other nations
  • The first launch will be in 2029
